Tournons La Page Tchad is following with great attention the official launch of the inclusive and sovereign national dialogue this day, August 20, 2022 at the Palais des Arts et de la Culture (Ex Palais du 15 janvier) and the magnitude that these meetings have taken.

Tournons La Page Chad expresses its indignation at the constant suspension of the plenary sessions of the inclusive and sovereign national dialogue by the organizing committee on the one hand and the minimal time of the debates of the plenary session not allowing the insertion of the observations made by the participants and the time of the words granted for such a meeting.

Tournons La Page Chad notes with regret the absence of real political actors and civil society at the opening of these meetings. The inclusive and sovereign national dialogue is an intrinsic appointment for the daughters and sons of Chad to turn the dark page of its history for a sincere reconciliation.

Tournons La Page Chad is outraged by the events of Thursday, September 1, 2022 and Friday, September 2, 2022 leading to the arrest of activists of the party LES TRANSFORMATEURS and the state of siege of the said political party. The pain and suffering of the population from the running and chasing of people in the arteries of the city by the defense and security forces are the beautiful dark periods of the repression of peaceful demonstration that the Military Council of the Transition embodies. TLP Chad believed that the CMT, which in the recent past has authorized demonstrations, would continue to respect the Transitional Charter on the one hand and the sanctity of a truly inclusive and sovereign national dialogue on the other.

It should be recalled that during the return of the head of the CMT junta from Doha, an unprecedented demonstration and parades were organized all day in full view of the defense and security forces, does this not constitute a disturbance of public order? Tournons La Page Chad strongly condemns the arrest of the militants of the party LES TRANSFORMATEURS at a time when the eyes of the partners and other organizations are turned to the unfolding of an inclusive and sovereign national dialogue. The CMT by this behavior proves that it is not willing to reconcile the daughters and sons of the country and to turn the axe of war.

Tournons La Page Chad demands the immediate and unconditional release of all persons apprehended and detained in public security police stations.

Tournons La Page Chad calls on the Military Council of the Transition to really and truly privilege the path of dialogue, the only way to resolve all the ills of Chadian society.
